This post is two weeks overdue, unfortunately, but here it is regardless!
The lovely Jess and Casey from Ravelry decided to stop in at Baa Ram Ewe on their way back up from London to Edinburgh. They bought with them Ysolda Teague and the lovely Sarah!
In honour of the occasion, Bettina decided to put together a Ravelry/BRE themed carrot cake for the event:
Here’s Bettina and Verity with the cake:
I have never seen so many people crammed in the shop – and more arrived after I took this picture:
We then listened to a very interesting talk about how Ravelry grew to be the site we know it as today. Ysolda has been involved since almost the very beginning, it would seem – and it was great to ask questions and see if Jess and Casey realise the effect they’ve had on knitting and crafting moving forward.
It then got to time to cut the cake!
It was lovely afterwards to be able to chat with everyone in more depth. Ysolda shared lots of useful information about sizing garments and gave a good preview of her upcoming book, “Little Red in the City” which should be coming out in September/October. I can’t wait for that!
I also managed to persuade everyone to sign my copies of Whimsical Little Knits and Whimsical Little Knits 2.
It was a ridiculously fun evening and confirmed my belief that I am so lucky to live where we do now – round the corner from the best knitting shop in the world!
